Minnesota is selling home tunnel tickets with an ad offering fans a chance to high-five Miami Heat stars

The Minnesota Timberwolves are one of the league’s most entertaining teams even when the squad is losing, and even when Ricky Rubio is on the bench. Kevin Love’s MVP-level start to the season and Rick Adelman’s always-intriguing offense make this team a League Pass-must watch, and though the team has dipped down below .500 after a hot start, there’s no reason why this party can’t last until the postseason.

Until then, though, the team has to sell some tickets. And with the Miami Heat coming to Minnesota on Dec. 7 for their lone visit of the 2013-14 season, the franchise has to figure out a way to maximize the profits they’ll pull in from the Heat’s notoriously bandwagon-y out-of-Florida fans. The team is hyping up the seating between the Target Center court and locker room, selling tickets for the hallway that the Heat players take the court on, in hopes that they’ll come out ready to slap five.

Via ESPN Sports Business Reporter Darren Rovell, here’s what the Wolves were offering on Friday:

Again, one doesn’t need a reason to watch the Wolves or Heat, two of the league most aesthetically-pleasing teams, and the Heat game was destined to become a sellout anyway. For the Wolves to enhance the amount they were already going to make on LeBron and company heading into town is bloody brilliant, though. Even if we wouldn’t want anything to do with sitting next to the sort of fair weather fan that would go to a game on another team’s court just for a chance to touch a celebrity at their job.
