Forrest Griffin - TRT helps you do your job better

Forrest Griffin defends TRT use (MMAWeekly)

Many fighters and coaches in the MMA world have tip-toed around the subject of testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) for years. Retired former UFC light heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin, who has used TRT, isn't one of those tepid souls.

WhoaTV recently interviewed Griffin (video below) and asked him what he thought about TRT being banned. The Ultimate Fighter season 1 winner called it like he saw it and shared an honest athlete's perspective.

"People think TRT is for lazy people," Griffin began.

"No, it's just you're just trying to improve yourself. All the drugs in the world ain't gonna turn a Chihuahua into a Pitbull, you know? I could do all the TRT in the world and Jones would beat my ass every day, all day, but, you know, I could be the best me.

"Here's what I don't understand...What's wrong with wanting to be better at your job? If I had a dream…you only get one life. That's it. This life, I didn't mean to have this [expletive] body with [expletive] genetics. I wanted a better one. I'll be honest. I wanted to be much bigger, stronger and faster. If I could do that. "So I don't think people get it, so [expletive] 'em. They take drugs just to stay happy. You take Prozac? Quit taking Prozac. No drugs but antibiotics. Don't take drugs to improve yourself. Your kids take Ritalin? No! [expletive]! They're doing that to cheat in school."
