Yoenis Cespedes’ first big-league homer (Video)

When it comes to fantasy baseball, there may be few better feelings than watching one of your mid-round picks homer in the first series of the season. For one trip around the bases (and one ensuing night of replays) your GM genius is confirmed right off the bat.

No, it's no matter if you know better. This will be the year your guy pads your power numbers and proves to be the steal of the draft. Heck, if your calculations are right, he's on pace for 81 homers! There's nothing stopping him — or you! — now.

Fantasy owners of Dustin Ackley knew this feeling on Wednesday. On Thursday, it was owners of Yoenis Cespedes (and Justin Smoak*) who were able to enjoy the experience. Here's video of Yo going deep in the bottom of the seventh, lifting not only his A's to a 4-1 victory, but also my ego to new heights.

*Yes, I suppose there are also some happy Jonny Gomes and Josh Reddick supporters who are also feeling pretty vindicated. Go crazy, folks! Go crazy!
