Whoa! Kyle Kendrick snares liner at head

Right-hander Kyle Kendrick forever will be known as the guy the Philadelphia Phillies once traded to Japan in 2008. It's as good of a baseball prank as there ever has been, or will be.

Remarkably, six years later, Kendrick is still with the Phillies. And what happened in the top of the fourth inning Sunday against the Miami Marlins was no laughing matter. It was a moment to exhale after Jeff "Preying" Mathis hit a line drive right at Kendrick's head. That's where Kendrick's brain is! Thankfully, his own superhero-like reflexes allowed Kendrick to catch the screamer, preventing the ball from doing any damage to Kendrick's head.

Whoa! No wonder the Japanese were so interested in him. The Phillies won 4-3 and Kendrick's face is still pretty.
