Vin Scully will grace the Twitterverse with his presence on Monday

Thursday, we celebrated Vin Scully's 85th birthday.

On Monday, we'll all celebrate one more time when the legendary broadcaster makes his very first venture into the wild and unpredictable world of Twitter.

Yes, you read that correctly, but I'll say it again in an attempt to firmly establish the enormity of what we're about to experience.

Vin Scully, the man who has seen it all and pretty much done it all in his time on earth and his six decades in baseball and broadcasting, will continue his seamless evolution and clear yet another technological hurdle when he takes over the Los Angeles Dodgers official Twitter account to host a question and answer session.

Of course we all remember what appeared to be Mr. Scully's introduction to Twitter while on the air back in July. That night, he read a "tweet" from newly acquired outfielder Shane Victorino, which he actually referred to at first as a "twitter" and later a "twit." It didn't really matter what he called it, though. We knew what he meant, and we honestly couldn't have been more entertained because it reminded many of us of the countless times we've attempted to explain Twitter to someone we knew.

In a later broadcast, Scully seemed to have a better grasp on the concept, and even made a request to those watching to help make A.J. Ellis a trending topic. A couple innings later, Scully was blown away when his producers informed him that the Dodgers second baseman was indeed trending in the United States.

A lot of that had to do with the power of Twitter, but I think it's safe to say it had just as much to do with the influence of Vin Scully. Now those two media powerhouses will come together for what I hope is the beginning of a beautiful new friendship, or at the very least the first in a series of can't miss interactions.

My prediction: #AskVin will be trending worldwide.
