Torii Hunter bristles at news of Hamilton’s big deal

Torii Hunter may have found a cushy landing spot with the Detroit Tigers, but his ego apparently still bruised easily upon hearing of Josh Hamilton's big five-year, $125 million deal with his former team on Thursday. The ex-Los Angeles Angels outfielder tweeted the above message soon after the surprising news of his high-paid replacement spread through the baseball world.

Without extensive knowledge of Hunter's extension talks with the Angels (or lack thereof), it's hard to say whether or not his feelings should be hurt. But as South Side Sox points out, he probably can't have any sour grapes over Moreno making an aggressive, impulsive and surprising push to secure the market's top free agent. After all, that's exactly how Hunter ended up with the Angels way back in December 2007.
