The dream is over: Astros' 10-game winning streak snapped by Rangers

Take a look around the league with Big League Stew's daily wrap up. We'll hit on all of the biggest moments from the day that you may have missed, while providing highlights, photos and interesting stats.

For those of us who thought the Houston Astros would never lose again (you know you were on board), Monday night was the end of the dream. The Astros' 10-game winning streak was snapped by the Texas Rangers, who edged the Astros 2-1 after a ninth-inning sac fly.

So close to 11!

The Astros, the surprise team of the MLB season thus far, are still 18-8, the best mark in the American League and they have a seven-game lead in the AL West. In case you hadn't been paying attention, no, these aren't those 100-loss Astros anymore.

On Monday, the Astros got another stellar start from their ace Dallas Keuchel, who earlier in the day was named AL pitcher of the month for April. Keuchel struck out six straight at one point. He surrendered just one run on five hits in eight innings. He left with the game knotted 1-1, but the Rangers went ahead with on a Robinson Chirinos sac fly in the ninth.

THE CARDS WIN AGAIN, SECURE BEST START SINCE 1900
There was no quit in the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday night. They were behind the Chicago Cubs 5-0 after the first inning, then down 8-4 after the sixth, but the Cards scratched back and pulled out a 10-9 win thanks to a seventh-inning rally.

Tony Cruz provided the go-ahead hit, a double that scored two runs and broke an 8-8 tie.

This was the seventh straight win for the Cardinals, and it made them 19-6 on the season. That's not just the best record in baseball, but it's also St. Louis' best start since 1900.

NELSON CRUZ HOMERS AGAIN, KING FELIX WINS AGAIN
The Seattle Mariners topped the Los Angeles Angels in a pitcher's duel turned dinger contest. Starters Felix Hernandez and Matt Shoemaker took a 0-0 game into the seventh inning, but then the M's got on the board with solo homers by Logan Morrison and Nelson Cruz.

Matt Joyce answered with a homer for the Angels in the bottom of the seventh, then Seth Smith hit a solo shot for the Mariners in the eighth. By the time David Freese's solo homer came in the ninth, it wasn't enough for the Angels, as Seattle won 3-2.

Two notes for the M's: King Felix, who pitched seven innings and struck out eight, improved to 5-0 on the season with a 1.73 ERA. He joins Matt Harvey as the only 5-0 pitchers in MLB. Meanwhile, Cruz's homer was his 14th of the season, which wow.

MADBUM ALMOST UNHITTABLE FOR GIANTS
Madison Bumgarner, the San Francisco Giants' do-it-all ace, was pretty close to adding another milestone to his already vast collection. Bumgarner took a no-hitter into the seventh inning against the San Diego Padres, who the Giants seem to have a knack for no-hitting.

It wasn't in the cards Monday night, as Justin Upton broke up the no-no in the seventh, but the Padres could only muster two hits on the evening as MadBum and the Giants won 2-0. Worth noting: The Giants, after early-season struggles, are now 13-13.
