Stephen Colbert predicts end of Cubs' futility, tosses goat from 'Late Night' studio

It's October and the Chicago Cubs are in the playoffs. It was only a matter of time before someone decided to have a little fun with the franchise's century without a World Series title.

"Late Night" host Stephen Colbert did a masterful job of mocking the 107 years of futility on the north side while simultaneously appearing to be pulling for the Cubs. He predicted an end to the streak Thursday and found an unwelcome guest in the audience whom he unceremoniously kicked to the curb. Spoiler alert: It's a goat. You know, like the curse.

The upcoming series with the Cardinals is bound to be intense Cubs fans. So have a laugh on us (well, Colbert) before you slide to the edge of the couch and start gritting your teeth.
