Potential Astros playoff run causes Taylor Swift to reschedule Houston concert

Last December, when Taylor Swift announced a concert at Houston's Minute Maid Park for her current tour, the Houston Astros put their own asterisk on it, writing, "Note: the date of the Taylor Swift 1989 tour show at MMP is subject to change if it conflicts with an Astros postseason home game."

The Astros were widely mocked for this disclaimer. After all, they had lost 92 games that year and 100+ in each of the three previous years. Postseason baseball in Houston? LOLOLOL. Well, guess who's laughing now?

Swift's camp and the Astros announced Monday that her Houston date has been rescheduled, from Oct. 13 to Sept. 9, to avoid any possible conflict with postseason baseball for the Astros. Because, if you haven't been paying attention the past four months, yes, the Astros are good. They're the surprise team of the 2015 MLB season, in fact, and have a legit chance to be playing in October.

The Astros are 55-45, a game back in the AL West and they would be a wild-card team if the season ended today. They also spent most of the first half in first place and could very well end up there again, especially after acquiring starting pitcher Scott Kazmir last week.

Consider this sweet victory for the Astros. These were just a few of the replies the Astros got in back in December, when they suggested a playoff run could displace Swift at Minute Maid Park:

There are a few blank spaces on the Astros apology list, guys, and we'll write your name.
