Phil Coke recalls striking out Miguel Cabrera and their conversation about it (Video)

One good byproduct of the Detroit Tigers making it to the World Series is that left-hander Phil Coke will get some fame out of it. He has an engaging personality with a dry sense of humor, and those can be in short supply in this world. He also tells a great story, as he recently did on MLB Network's "Intentional Talk," about his conversation with Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera regarding the time Coke struck him out in 2009.

Coke's facial expressions are the best part of the video; they really capture what must have been Cabrera's incredulity at failing against his ginger teammate, who used to play for the New York Yankees. When telling the story, Coke resorts to affecting a Latino accent that borders on Tony Montana from "Scarface." Hopefully, it's not too terribly offensive.

"He asked me last year if I had ever faced him and I said, 'Yes. Yes you have.' And he said:

"'What I do? Home run?' And I'm, like, 'Nnnooo.'

"And he's like, 'Oh, oh. Doble. For sure, doble. No problem, doble.' I was, like, 'Nnnooo.'

"And he was, like, 'Oh, you walk me, you wuss. You walk me, you sissy.' I was, like, 'No.'

"Then he was, like, 'Whatchoo do to me?' And I was, like, 'I struck you out on a 3-2 breaking ball.' And he was, like, 'I don't remember horse crap pitchers.'"

Perfect. Thankfully, the video rats at Deadspin were combing the Internets and shed some light on this in a post Friday.
