Logan Morrison hits walkoff homer, gets trash shower from Nelson Cruz

The Seattle Mariners have been among baseball's biggest disappointments this season, but it's not as if they haven't been competitive.

Going into Friday's game against the Oakland A's, they had already lost five games in walkoff fashion, which means they were one hit or play away from a different result in each game.

With their resilience being tested on an almost nightly basis, the Mariners finally experienced the jubilation of their own walkoff victory on Friday. In the 11th inning, Logan Morrison launched a game-winning home run to center off Oakland's Dan Otero, which set off a celebration that seemed long overdue, and perhaps even symbolic of their early season woes.

Cup of LoMo indeed.

First there's a Gatorade and/or water bath. It's difficult to tell for sure. But that's definitely Nelson Cruz dumping a whole trash can full of plastic cups and assorted other garbage over Morrison's head.

A trash bath, perhaps?

Whatever you want to call it, that's definitely a new one. And it's one we're guessing the person in charge of cleaning the dugout doesn't like one bit.

Now the question is: Does this mean the Mariners think they're playing like garbage this season, and in some way were trying to exorcise some demons? Or was it simply a case of, "Well, there's Logan Morrison and there's the trash can, let's dump its contents over his head?"

Based on Morrison's Twitter handle, perhaps it's a celebration he's had planned for awhile now and finally got to use it. Only the Mariners know, but we're guessing if they win again on Saturday, it's a celebration that will return.

Especially if it's another walkoff victory.
