Francisco Lindor shows off his defensive prowess

Francisco Lindor, shortstop for the Cleveland Indians, had quite a game against the Minnesota Twins on Monday night. He put on an absolute clinic at shortstop, and showed why the Indians are so lucky to have him.

Lindor's first outstanding play came in the bottom of the third inning. Eduardo Nunez hit a ball to the hole at short, which Lindor gracefully grabbed. He then turned and made a gorgeous, arcing throw that first baseman Mike Napoli caught while barely having to move. And Lindor did all of that in one fluid motion.

But Lindor wasn't done. In the bottom of the fifth, Eduardo Escobar smacked a bouncer toward pitcher Danny Salazar. Salazar clipped it with his glove, but he couldn't catch it and the ball continued back toward second base.

In came Lindor from short, and he attempted to grab the ball with a bare hand. When he did, the ball didn't quite stay put. He couldn't get a solid grip on it at first, and took a few extra milliseconds to get the ball in his hand before executing a perfect quick turn and throw to get Escobar at first.

To get one play like that in a game is a gift, but two? That is an embarrassment of riches. We all owe Francisco Lindor a thank-you note for these amazing presents.
