Fenway remembers Boston Marathon attacks

"Lifted by an outpouring of love," the Boston Red Sox held a ceremony Sunday night at Fenway Park marking the events of the 2013 Boston Marathon, along a remembrance by the city and the world. The theme, in part, was "This is our city," inspired by the words of slugger of David Ortiz. But the Red Sox also appreciated the world's response, lining the playing field with banners signed by people from all 50 states, including major leaguers on teams from those respective places. Survivors were there, as were good Samaritans.

The scoreboard showed the names of those who died: Martin Richard, Krystle Campbell, Lingzi Lu and officer Sean Collier.

It was somber but inspiring, and appropriate for the moment. And then the teams played on, with the Boston Red Sox beating the Baltimore Orioles 6-5 with a run in the bottom of the ninth.
