David Wright engaged to model Molly Beers

They've been linked for years but now New York Mets third baseman David Wright has put a ring on the appropriate finger of model Molly Beers. Aesthetically, they're a fairly handsome couple. ESPN's Adam Rubin got the scoop:

Weeks after model Molly Beers accompanied Wright to the winter meetings for his contract-extension announcement, the couple became engaged over the holidays, Wright told ESPNNewYork.com.

Sorry to all of the single ladies and gentlemen, for the loss of David and Molly. It makes sense for Wright to have popped the question this offseason, given the eight-year contract extension to which Rubin alluded. Wright has been locked into Queens for the rest of the decade and has just turned 30 years old, so he might as well select the queen for the rest of his life. Thankfully, Wright has picked one and can go home.

David Wright is very happy to be here! Just as long as Randy Watson gets to sing at his wedding.
