Carlos Correa tried beer for first time after Astros' wild-card win, wasn't a fan

Young Carlos Correa, the Houston Astros' superstar-in-the-making, turned 21 two weeks ago and until Tuesday night, he'd never tasted beer. The Astros shut out the New York Yankees, advanced to the ALDS and celebrated like a team that had just shook off the ghosts of three 100-loss seasons.

And Correa, well, he finally tried beer. His review? Meh.

That's via Sports Illustrated's Ben Reiter, who recently profiled Correa. It's akin to Golden State Warriors forward Harrison Barnes, a 23-year-old, getting his first taste of alcohol when his team won the NBA championship in June.

As for Correa, in his SI profile, he told Reiter:

"Never drank a beer before," he says. "I've had wine and champagne, but never a beer. I don't think that will happen. I don't know why people look forward to that."

Well, we don't see a Budweiser commercial in his future. But when you see Correa out there in the ALDS playing against the Kansas City Royals, consider this context. That's how young he is.
