Bryce Harper took a selfie with a fan's phone before first pitch
Bryce Harper is having an incredible season for the Washington Nationals. He's tied for the league lead in home runs with 18, is second in on-base percentage (.470), tied for second in RBI (44), ranks in the top 10 in batting average (.329) and has the most votes in the NL All-Star balloting with 2.3 million.
Now you can add another number to his already impressive list: one pregame selfie taken on the field using a fan's phone.
Just before first pitch between the Nationals and the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday night, Harper was warming up in right field when he asked a fan to throw her phone to him so he could use it to snap a selfie. Jamie Roach, a retail manager from Laurel, Md., and Nationals fan who said she goes to about 40 games a year, obliged and here's what she saw when Harper flipped the phone back to her:

Harper explained after the game that Roach was trying to take a photo of him from her seat and he thought he could help her out by taking the photo himself.
"It was pretty good," Harper told The Associated Press when he saw the photo after the game. "Just messing around a little bit with the fans. Enjoying it with them a little bit. It's always fun."
It required a team effort to get this done, but the way Harper's playing right now it's no surprise everything went smoothly as Roach left Nationals Park with a unique souvenir.
''I was so excited. I've never gotten a ball from him, but now I've got this picture,'' Roach told the AP. ''It was very awesome. The feeling like a kid in a candy store.''
