BLS Photoshop contest! Matt Cain, samurai warrior

The headline does not deceive you. It really is time for another Big League Stew Photoshop contest, one that features the best grand prize we've ever put up for competition.

Before we get to the Mizuno-provided booty, though, here's what we're asking you to do. Take the above picture of Matt Cain swashbuckling against San Francisco Giants teammate Jeremy Affeldt earlier this season and Photoshop it into something far funnier and more creative. Like the Kevin Youkilis and Melky Cabrera contests before it, our esteemed panel of judges is looking for creations that will make us laugh and look at the situation in a different light. With Cain looking to attack, there are no shortage of scenes you can dump him in. (Don't be afraid to get Affeldt involved, either.)

The rules: Send all entries to bigleaguestew@yahoo.com by Sunday, Aug. 19 at 11:59 p.m. PT. Participants may only enter one Photoshop and their work will not be considered if they enter more than one. The three top winners will be announced on the Big League Stew Facebook page (follow it!) throughout the day on Tuesday, Aug. 21. If you'd like to download a larger version of the image to work from, please go here.

Now, on to the prizes, which we thank the fine folks at Mizuno for providing:

First prize

: Matt Cain Autographed Mizuno Pro Limited Edition Glove

This is a version of the very same glove that Cain wore while starting for the National League at last month's All-Star game in Kansas City. While it carries a retail value of $500, it's surely worth more than that considering it has been signed by Mr. Perfect Game himself.

Second prize: Mizuno Global Elite Batting Glove For better traction and grip during your intense sessions in the batting cage ... or your next entry in the BLS Photoshop series.

Third prize: Mizuno LS Performance G2 For your strenuous workouts during the cool fall ahead ... or to wear during a winter's evening sweating out the best hot stove rumors.

Good luck to everyone who enters!
