Red Wings prospect Martin Frk scores 5 goals for Halifax Mooseheads in playoff game (VIDEO)

Don't worry, you're not the first to think of a punny "Holy Frk!" headline.

This is what happens when the QMJHL playoff format requires two teams who were 73 points apart during the regular season to meet in a first-round playoff series. The Halifax Mooseheads, to the surprise of probably no one, scored 11 goals in their playoff opener against the Saint John Sea Dogs. The fact the game was a mismatch, though, doesn't completely override that Detroit Red Wings prospect Martin Frk had the most profilic hockey performance in Nova Scotia since Ricky from Trailer Park Boys scored 11 goals in floor hockey.

The 19-year-old Czech slipped to the second round last summer after his progress was set back by injuries that almost completely scuttled the first half of his 2011-12 season. But Frk, who has a NHL-calibre shot, could prove to be a steal. He had five goals and three assists for eight points on Friday during the 11-1 rout.

None of the five were garbage goals, as Frk and top NHl draft prospects Jonathan Drouin (six assists) and Nathan MacKinnon (two goals, two assists) just did whatever they wanted.

Frk broke Alex Tanguay's Mooseheads club record for most points in a playoff game before the end of the second period.

“I don’t even know what to say,” Frk told the Halifax Chronicle-Herald. "This is crazy for me. It never happened to me before so I am happy. I have to say thank you to the boys. They passed to me a lot and they did everything for me. It was a great game for us and more important is we won.”

"I didn’t know the records before," Frk also told the newspaper. "I was just trying to (get the most) points I can. It’s always nice and ... I still feel a little bit shaky now and everything, but it’s good."

Frk's injuries prevented him from playing for the Czech Republic in the 2012 world junior championship. If he had been healthy, the Czechs might have medalled in that tourney and he also could have been a three-time WJC competitor. Halifax could have beat Saint John while playing with sticks borrowed from Sunnyvale Trailer Park, but still, eight points.
