Islanders prospect Josh Ho-Sang makes sublime spin-o-rama pass for goal in OHL playoff win (VIDEO)

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. — During his draft season, the delightfully different Josh Ho-Sang said he tries to model his game after Chicago Blackhawks legend Denis Savard, whose peak years came before Ho-Sang was born. Monday, Ho-Sang channeled Savard with a sweet spin-o-rama pass as part of his three-assist effort during the Niagara IceDogs' much-needed win over the Ottawa 67's in the OHL playoffs.

If it was "mandatory" for the Windsor Spitfires to move Ho-Sang to the IceDogs last fall, then it's also mandatory to watch his highlight play. During the second period of Niagara's eventual 6-2 win, Ho-Sang came down the left wing, made a 360-degree turn and sent a no-look pass to Jordan Maletta for a top-shelf goal.

Niagara dressing out in its Chicago-style red alternates uniforms, an homage to the day when St. Catharines was home to a junior team affiliated with the Original Six franchise, only helped foster the Savard comparison.

This came in front of what 67's coach Jeff Brown, embellishingly only slightly for hyperbolic effect, called a gathering of "100 scouts" there to see the 10 NHL draft picks on the team and first-time eligibles such as the 67's Travis Konency, Dante Salituro and Jeremiah Addison and the IceDogs' Graham Knott and Vince Dunn.

No doubt Ho-Sang enjoyed proving a point to staff from the teams that decided not to select him before the Islanders took the plunge with the No. 28 overall pick in last June's draft. Niagara's win cut Ottawa's lead in the Eastern Conference quarter-final series to 2-1.
