No. 1 star: Joey Ratelle, Drummondville Voltigeurs (QMJHL)

Ratelle (2G-1A, +2) and the Voltigeurs took down the top team in their division on the road by shading the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada 5-4. In what's as close as its get to a home game for the native of the Montreal suburb of Otterburn Park, Ratelle helped Drummondville start strongly by scoring in the first period with assists from Benjamin Gagné and Alex Barré-Boulet. The Armada twice came back to tie the game; just 64 seconds after they pulled even in the second, Ratelle struck for the Voltigeurs' fourth goal on just 12 shots. Ratelle also had an assist on Georgs Golovkovs' eventual game-winner with 1013 remaining. The 18-year-old, with 20 goals and 27 points over 30 games, has nearly matched his sophomore season totals (21 and 35 over 67 games).

No. 2 star: Robby Fabbri, Guelph Storm (OHL)

The trio of Fabbri (1G-2A, +2), Tyler Bertuzzi (3A, +2) and freshly arrived overage Luke Cairns (2G, +2) did most of the heavy lifting during a 5-2 Storm win at Niagara. The IceDogs began auspiciously when Arizona Coyotes first-rounder Brendan Perlini, making his season debut after breaking his hand in September, scored just 4:02 into the contest.

Fabbri, a first-rounder of the St. Louis Blues, scored later in the frame. The centre took over in the second, dishing to Storm debutant Cairns for a go-ahead goal and also assisting on the sealer by Zac Leslie (1G-1A, +2) with 8:40 left.

No. 3 star: Blake Speers, Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds  (OHL)

Speers (2G-1A) helped the 'Hounds outlast the Windsor Spitfires 8-5 to bank a road win while starting 16-year-old second-string goalie Joseph Raaymakers. The 17-year-old sophomore had the primary assist on Bryan Moore's clinching power-play goal that opened a two-goal lead with 4:58 to play. Speers also scored twice in the first period.

Honourable mention: Mathieu Lemay, Rouyn-Noranda Huskies (QMJHL)

Lemay (2G, +2) somehow didn't get a star inside the building after helping Rouyn-Noranda end a three-game losing skid with a 3-1 win at Acadie-Bathurst. The overage wing from Hawkesbury, Ont., sniped the 2-0 goal on a setup from captain Ryan Penny (2A, +2) late in the second. Goalie Jacob Brennan made 31 saves to give Bathurst a chance, but Lemay scored his team-high 21st into an empty net with 1:29 left in the third.

Potent notables — New York Islanders first-rounder Michael Dal Colle (2G-1A, +3) led Oshawa to a 6-0 win at Peterborough and has 20 goals in 21 games ... Cordell James scored the Teddy Bear Toss goal during Barrie's 5-3 win over Mississauga. .
