No. 1 co-stars: Olivier Archambault & Nick Sorensen, Quebec Remparts (QMJHL)

It was a two-pronged attack from the Remparts that earned them a 6-3 win over the Charlottetown Islanders.

Archambault and Sorensen each scored three times to award Quebec their 17th win of the season, and move them up to seventh place in the QMJHL overall standings.

Only a Daniel Sprong goal early in the second period spoiled a natural hat-trick for Sorensen, who scored his 11-13th goals of the season to put the Remparts up 3-1. His three goals were his first tour-du-chapeau on the season, and gave the Ducks prospect 27 points in 19 games. Sorensen took a match penalty in the Remparts' win over Halifax Friday, but it was reduced to a game misconduct, allowing the Dane to play Saturday and allowing Charlottetown to suffer.

Archambault then went to work, icing off a hat-trick of his own with an empty netter at 18:41 to seal the deal. The goals were only his 3-5th, as the overager had been battling injuries delaying the start of his season. The former Habs prospect has five goals in seven games.

Bolts prospect Adam Erne had three assists in the win, a day removed from his controversial hit on Halifax forward Jonathan Drouin. Anthony Duclair and captain Ryan Culkin each had two assists in a game where only six players registered points for the winning side. Callum Booth earned his fifth win of the season, making 31 saves. Antoine Bibeau took the loss in net for the Islanders.

No. 2 star: Josh Anderson, London Knights (OHL)

Anderson steered the Knights to a 6-2 win over Owen Sound with a four point night.

The Canadian junior hopeful scored twice and added a pair of assists. He scored London’s first two goals in the contest, and assisted the next two.

Coyotes pick Max Domi had a goal and two assists in the win, which brought the Knights to 22-6-1-1, and let them keep pace ahead of the Storm for second place in the Midwest Division. Bo Horvat had a goal and an assist.

Jake Paterson (no, not THAT Jake Paterson) earned the win in net, stopping 35 shots. Former QMJHL netminder Jack Flinn took the loss with 43 saves, which dropped the Attack to 15-11-2-3.

No. 3 star: Dyson Stevenson, Regina Pats (WHL)

The Pats captain put the team on his back and solved a hot goalie with two goals in a 3-2 win in Saskatoon. He scored his 17th and 18th goals of the year to deliver the Pats’ 17th win of the season.

Regina took 49 shots and Blades goalkeeper Troy Tremblay stopped 46 of them for the hard-luck loss. Dawson MacAuley got the win in net.

Boston Leier earned two assists in the win, which boosted the Pats to third place in the East Division. Brett Stovin grabbed a goal and an assist in the loss.

Honourable mention: Sergei Tolchinsky, Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds (OHL)

Tolchinsky scored the winner at 3:56 of overtime, scored another goal and added an assist in the Greyhounds’ 5-4 thriller over the Saginaw Spirit.

Tolchinsky’s winner silenced the crowd of 3,236 at the Dow Events Center, who saw a game of end-to-end action with 79 shots between the two teams and only two powerplays. The win bumps the Sault’s lead in the West Division to six points over the Windsor Spitfires. Matt Murray got the win in net, while Jake Paterson (yes, THAT Jake Paterson) took the loss in goal.

Honourable mention: Cameron Darcy, Cape Breton Screaming Eagles (QMJHL)

Darcy had three goals and added in assist in Cape Breton’s 9-6 wild win in Saint John, including two unassisted markers.

The win improved Cape Breton to 17-11-0-3 and moved them in a tie for ninth place in the league in a game that turned into a goalie graveyard. Blueliner Justin Haché increased his stock for the trading period by netting a goal and earning three assists. Raphaël Corriveau scored twice, and Julien Pelletier and William Carrier each had two helpers.

Honourable mention: Barclay Goodrow, North Bay Battalion (OHL)

Goodrow lit the lamp three times and added an assist in North Bay’s 6-3 win in Niagara. The Battalion captain scored the two insurance markers to finish nailing the coffin for North Bay. The goals were his 14-16th of the season.

The win brought the Battalion one game closer to .500, with a 14-15-1-0 record. Brendan O’Neill earned the win in net. Ben Thomson scored and added an assist, while Mike Amadio got two helpers.
