After tears, 4-year-old lands Steve Nash’s autographed sneakers

On July 9, Prep Rally brought you video of a 4-year-old's tearful reaction to news that Steve Nash was leaving her beloved Phoenix Suns for the Lakers. Among her priceless reactions were the realization that, "Now I'll never get his autograph!"

It turns out she spoke too soon. As Nash announced on his personal Twitter feed on July 14, Nash sent the preschooler who he identified as "Aurora" a pair of his autographed shoes … in Suns purple and orange, of course.

"Glad to turn that frown upside down Aurora …" Nash tweeted on the social media site on Saturday.

Aurora -- whose last name remains unknown -- rose to brief national prominence a week earlier for her remarkable outburst to her mother, who broke the news of Nash's trade to her. In an astounding 51 seconds, the 4-year-old went through a wide variety of stages of grief and acceptance, eventually coming to grips with the realization that her favorite mercurial point guard was truly gone for good.

He's still gone, to the hated Lakers at that, her outbursts unable to undo the new contract he signed with the Suns, which was then traded on to the Lakers. Yet at least Aurora will always have those shoes as a reminder of a player she loves so much she was driven to tears.
