H.S. hockey goalie lays out for tremendous save

A high school goalie from Minnesota pulled off a tremendous save in his team's Class AA quarterfinal game on Thursday.

The save kept Grant Tharaldson's Bemdji (Minn.) team in the game as the Lumberjacks attempted to rally back from a three-goal deficit. His teammates scored two late goals to bring the score to 5-4 with 53.5 seconds left on the clock, but the effort fell short.

Edina (Minn.), going for a state title three-peat, advanced with the 6-4 win, according to the Pioneer Press.

Regardless, Bemidji should be proud of its showing in the state tournament, considered the best high school hockey showcase in the country. It was the school's first time playing there since 1986.
