Old Shots That Never Get Old: Shaun Micheel’s 7-iron at the 2003 PGA Championship

We've all hit the shot that Shaun Micheel pulled off on the 72nd hole at Oak Hill back in 2003 to win his first and only major championship. We've done it on the range or daydreaming at work or maybe even on the golf course, standing over a ball and hitting the ball exactly the way you envisioned it. Micheel just happened to do it on one of the biggest stages in the world to win one of the biggest tournaments in the world.

Ranked 169 in the world at the time, Micheel came to the 18th needing to hold off Chad Campbell. A good drive had him just off the fairway, 174 yards from destiny. Micheel pulled 7-iron, hit it exactly how he wanted and walked up to find his ball just inches from the hole.

That closing birdie was good enough for a final round 70 and a two-shot victory over Campbell, and will forever go down as one of the best iron shots in major championship history.
