Ready for the U.S. Open? You damn well better be, because it's here, like it or not. Also here, like it or not? Chris Berman on ESPN's coverage. Look, we won't mince words here: Chris Berman is awful on golf. Just awful. He fits about as well on ESPN's otherwise-strong golf telecasts as a beer burp. But at least he won't be around for the weekend. Here's how things shake out:

ESPN will have television coverage starting at noon ET, followed by evening coverage at 5 p.m. ET. On both days, NBC picks up coverage from 3-5 p.m. ET. Since this is on the West Coast, it'll run late into the evening.

Online coverage begins on both days at 10:30 a.m. ET at usopen.com and on associated apps. Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Bubba Watson form the first marquee group on Thursday morning.

NBC picks up the live coverage at 4 p.m. ET through the end of play both days. Online coverage will also begin then, running through to a scheduled 10 p.m. ET finishing time.

If there's a playoff, it'll air on ESPN at noon ET.

Around these parts, we'll have live chats and Twitter feeds starting at 10 a.m. ET on both Thursday and Friday. We'll also be online all weekend at @jaybusbee and @jonathanrwall on Twitter, and Devil Ball Golf on Facebook, for your U.S. Open needs.
