Goal! Yahoo launches Premier League DFS on Saturday

You wanted DFS Premier League soccer, and now you’ve got it. Yahoo is excited to launch its game this weekend, starting with the Saturday EPL slate. Feel free to start building your lineups inside the game ASAP.

Here’s some of the stuff you need to know.

If you want to jump-start your weekend with the full eight-match Saturday slate, including the early Leicester City at Manchester City showdown, select the 7:45 AM EST card. If you want to sleep in a bit, go with the 10 AM EST card, which includes the other seven games.

Like any true soccer experience, you’ll be selecting your Best XI. Here’s how your 11-man roster breaks down (it’s a 3-4-2-1-1):

- Three Defenders

- Four Midfielders

- Two Forwards

- One Utility (F/M/D)

- One Goalkeeper

While I had nothing to do with the creation of the game, there are two things I love with the positional format: a meaty set of starters (11), and the inclusion of a flex player. More starters will help iron out flukes and bad luck, and the flex option puts more playability in the game. Good show.

Knowledge of the scoring system is critical, of course, especially in a dynamic DFS game like soccer. Here’s how it breaks down:

Win = 2 points
Draw = 1 point
Block = 0.5 points
Last Man Tackle = 1 point
Clean Sheet (90 minutes) = 3 points
Goal = 8 points
Assist = 4 points
Shot = 0.5 points
Shot on Target = 2 points
Successful Pass = .05 points
Successful Cross = 0.5 points
Corner Won = 0.5 points
Foul Won = 0.5 points
Foul Conceded = -0.5 points
Tackle Won = 0.5 points
Pass Intercepted = 0.5 points
Yellow Card = -2 points
Red Card/Two Yellows: -5 points
Penalty Kick Conceded = -1 point
Penalty Kick Miss = -4 points
Own Goal = -4 points

For Forwards and Midfielders

Goal = 8 points
Assist = 4 points
Shot = 0.5 points
Shot on Target = 2 points
Successful Pass = .05 points
