Daily Dime: Dustin Pedroia, Adam Jones, Brandon Belt and seven other good ideas

Dustin Pedroia, 2B, vs. NYM (Kazmir), $3200 at FanDuel: He's hitting like vintage Pedroia so far this season, slashing .303/.365/.454 with eight homers and nine doubles. On Thursday, he homered, walked and scored a pair of runs in a 2-for-4 performance against the Twins. Pedroia has a history of dominance against Scott Kazmir, for what it's worth: 19-for-40, five doubles, triple, two HRs, 10 walks.

Adam Jones, OF, at Cle (Marcum), $2800 : Another excellent player at a friendly price. Jones seems to be waking up, after a quiet month of May. He's gone 5-for-8 over his last two games with a triple and a homer, crossing the plate three times. Marcum hasn't given him much trouble over the years, if you care about batter-vs.-pitcher data: 8-for-21, triple, HR.

Brandon Belt, 1B, at Phi (Williams), $3600: Belt has reached base safely in each of his last 14 games, and he's hit four home runs during that stretch. He's slashing .306/.379/.535 for the season with 24 extra-base hits. He's also facing Jerome Williams on Friday, a right-hander with a 1.59 WHIP.

Brett Lawrie, 3B, at Bos (Miley), $2800: Lawrie has multiple hits in each of his last three games, crossing the plate in each contest. He gets to face a sketchy left-hander on Friday, too. Miley allowed nine hits and five earned runs (six total) over 4.0 IP in his last start.

Nick Markakis, OF, vs. Pit (Morton), $2500: Clearly, Markakis has his shortcomings. He hasn't yet homered this year, and he's swiped just one bag. But he's reaching base at a .392 clip for the season, and he's strung together back-to-back-to-back multi-hit games. At this price, he has plenty of appeal. Charlie Morton shouldn't scare you off.

Wilmer Flores, SS, at Ari (Hellickson), $2400: Here's a dirt-cheap shortstop with power upside, visiting a friendly park and facing a dude with a 5.08 ERA and 1.41 WHIP. Flores has eight homers on the year, and Hellickson has allowed five bombs (and 12 ER) in his last three home starts.

Marcell Ozuna, OF, at Col (Butler), $3400: Again, weather could be an issue here. Here's the forecast. Not the best. But if they get this one in, Ozuna pretty clearly carries a nice price. He's hit safely in five straight, with multiple hits (including a pair of doubles) in his last two.

Chris Owings, SS, vs. NYM (Niese), $2700: Yeah, OK, so I'm partial to Owings as a fantasy asset. This season hasn't been the smoothest ride, but he's working on an eight-game hitting streak, plus he's 7-for-7 on stolen base attempts thus far. Niese has been brutal lately, giving up 31 hits and 20 earned runs and five homers over his last four starts.

Jonathan Lucroy, C, at Min (Gibson), $2800: Lucroy is back from the disabled list and beginning to surge, with four hits over his last two games. This is simply an appealing price on a quality hitter, facing a pitch-to-contact starter.

Jake Odorizzi, P, at Sea (Happ), $8600: The pitching landscape is tricky on Friday, with no upper-tier, no-doubt aces on the hill. Odorizzi is obviously off to a terrific start (2.61 ERA, 1.01 WHIP), plus he's facing a miserable lineup. Seattle currently ranks 28th in baseball in both run-scoring and OBP. Mark Trumbo isn't enough to fix all that's flawed with the M's.
