Court Report: Dwight Howard suffers setback, out at least a few more games

Dwight Howard is out Friday and is not expected to be available on Sunday or Monday as he seeks a second opinion on his troublesome back. Howard left the team for further evaluation in Los Angeles after suffering a setback while practicing on Thursday. Howard's continued absence means more starts for Glen Davis - he's averaged 36 minutes, 19.2 points on 46-percent shooting, 11.8 boards, 1.5 steals, and 0.5 blocks over the past six games. As for Howard himself: his default h2h season is over, and we should know more about his status through the end of the NBA regular season within a day or two.

• The T-Wolves have no idea as of yet if we'll see Kevin Love again this season, and Rick Adelman said Thursday that, if he were to need as many as another four or five days to recover, then "this season is pretty well gone by then anyway." The Wolves, sans Love, were blown out by the Clippers on Thursday - Derrick Williams started but struggled (26 minutes, 1-7 FG, 5 boards, 4 turnovers, 2 blocks, 5 fouls), while Anthony Randolph was solid off the bench (27 minutes, 16 points, 7-12 FG, 9 boards, 3 blocks). Both players warrant a roster spot in most formats, but for a specific window - the Wolves play four games in the next six days and then just twice over the final seven days of the season [schedule] .. Luke Ridnour (ankle) missed his fifth straight game Thursday, but Rick Adelman has yet to rule him out for Saturday. J.J. Barea has averaged 34 minutes, 12.6 points on 39-percent shooting, 2 threes, 9.2 assists, 4.4 turnovers, and 0.4 steals in his five starts.

• Brandan Wright (4% owned) is another ex-Warrior in a position to help a number fantasy owners down the stretch, and also in a specific window. He's emerged as the single big off the bench for Rick Carlisle and is fourth on the Mavs in minutes over the past four games, averaging 13.5 points on 64-percent shooting, 6 boards, 1 steal, and 1.8 blocks in 30 minutes. A Friday add nets you five games over the next eight days, but the Mavs then play just once over the season's final five days [schedule].

Status updates: Kobe Bryant (shin) is out again Friday and questionable for Sunday .. Paul Millsap (wrist) did nothing with his right hand during the team's Friday shootaround and is doubtful .. Stephen Curry is set for a re-evaluation on his ankle, and we should have word on the remainder of his season by Monday. The Warriors play seven games between Monday and the end of the season .. Ray Allen (anke) continues to deal with swelling and is out Friday and likely Saturday, as well. "We'll see after that," said Doc Rivers .. Gerald Wallace (hamstring) is out Friday and questionable for Saturday .. Nene Hilario (plantar fasciitis) is out Friday but hoping to return next week .. Andrea Bargnani's season is officially done .. Eric Gordon (back) is a game-time decision on Friday .. Darren Collison (groin) looks doubtful for Friday .. Grant Hill (knee) will return to the Suns' active roster on Friday as a reserve .. Drew Gooden and Ersan Ilyasova will be in the starting five for the Bucks on Friday.
