3-Point Stance: How fantasy rich will Laquon Treadwell be Year 1?

Leading up to the NFL Draft April 28, Brad Evans and Liz Loza will crouch down, explode off the snap and tackle pressing questions about some of this year's most prominent prospects. Wednesday's topic: Mississippi WR Laquon Treadwell.

Despite a lackluster 4.63 40-yard at his Pro Day, Treadwell is widely perceived as the top prospect among this year's WR class, drawing comparisons to fantasy mainstays DeAndre Hopkins, Alshon Jeffery and Dez Bryant. His ball-tracking skills, clean routes, fearlessness and intelligence are highly touted. What team(s) do you see as best fits?

Liz – Teams flush with speedy slot guys and in need of a physical possession asset are ideal landing spots for Treadwell. Los Angeles and Minnesota make a lot of sense. Though, from a fantasy perspective, they're less than ideal. The Rams lack of talent under center and the Vikings run-heavy approach could severely cap Megaquon's potential. I dig the idea of him going to New Orleans and filling the vacancy left by Marques Colston. Yet, the Saints will likely address a defensive need with the twelfth pick in the draft. That means there's a good shot Treadwell lands in Buffalo, attempting to take some pressure off of Sammy Watkins.

Brad – Many pubicly will water down Treadwell because of his lack of open field wheels, but behind close doors most would covet the youngster's space-generating strength, over-the-middle toughness and pro-ready body. He likely isn't the next Calvin Johnson, but his high production on slants and crosses should complement any top target nicely. With several WR needy teams on the clock in Round 1, he could conceivably land in multiple locales, New Orleans being the most attractive and best fit. If a Saint, he would eventually become Drew Brees' true No. 1 with Brandin Cooks sliding back into a more natural No. 2 role. New York (Giants), Los Angeles, Houston, Cincinnati and Minnesota are also possible destinations.

Fill in the blank. Treadwell will land in the Round __-__ range in 12-team drafts and finish around No. ___ among fantasy wide receivers this fall.

Liz – According to current ADP data, Treadwell is being drafted at the end of the eleventh round. I suspect he'll get a bit hotter as the spring and summer pass, ultimately going off the board somewhere between rounds 9 - 10. Overall, I see him closing out his rookie campaign as the WR38 in fantasy.

Brad – Landing spot will ultimately determine how much initial buzz Treadwell will attract. If tied to a competent quarterback (e.g. Brees) and placed in a targets-friendly situation his peak August ADP should fall in the Round 7-8 range. Assuming that's the case, a finish around WR32 is achievable.

Fearless Forecast. Provide a statistical prediction for Treadwell in his rookie season (REC-YDS-TDs).

Liz – 58-763-6

Brad – 64-807-6 (As a Saint)
