Team Canada take$ home big haul from Wimbledon
The success of the Canadian players at Wimbledon wasn't just on the court. They returned home with an impressive cache of British pounds.
The grand total for all the Canadians in action?: £ 1,665,250
That translates to approximately $ 3,059,254 in Canadian dollars.
A little more than half of that (880,000 or $1,624,468) was earned by Genie Bouchard, by making the women's singles final.
It's actually a lot better than it sounds; foreign athletes earning money in the U.K. must pay major taxes on those earnings. But it's still a nice haul.
