Time to alter the lyrics to 6 Man, Drake. Lou Williams isn't just any sixth man, he's the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year.

The Raptors guard earned 78 first-place votes from a panel of 130 writers and broadcasters that cover the NBA and finished ahead of Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas and Clippers guard Jamal Crawford to win the award given to the league's best reserve for the 2014-15 season. Williams, 28, averaged a career-high 15.5 points, 1.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.1 steals in just over 25 minutes in 80 games off the bench for Toronto.

He played a significant role in getting the Raptors to a franchise-record 49 wins and winning the Atlantic division title, especially with starting guards DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry missing time with injuries at different points this season.

Brought over in the offseason in a trade with Atlanta, Williams fit in with the team right away and added an offensive spark they didn't have before he arrived.

Williams and the Raptors continue their first round playoffs series against the Washington Wizards with Game 2 set for Tuesday night in Toronto. They're down 1-0 in the series after a 93-86 OT loss in Game 1 on Saturday.
