FIBA Americas Championship: Canada lose tight game to Argentina 73-67, fail to qualify for 2014 World Cup

Canada's senior men's basketball team will not qualify for the 2014 FIBA World Cup this summer. Canada lost to Argentina 73-67 in the final game of the second round at the FIBA Americas Championship in Caracas, Venezuela and finish outside of the top four.

Cory Joseph had 19 points and Andrew Nicholson scored 17 points.

Luis Scola scored a game-high 28 points for Argentina.

Canada's hopes to qualify for next summer's World Cup in Spain are not extinguished. FIBA will announce its four wild-card participants later this year.
