Blue Jays 1B/DH Adam Lind has fractured foot, expected to be out 6-8 weeks
Add Adam Lind to the growing list of Blue Jays position players that will be off the field due to injury.
Lind, 30, told Blue Jays beat reporters that an MRI has revealed that he has a fractured foot and he expects to miss between six-to-eight weeks, but that he is seeking a second opinion.
Lind says he's likely out for the next 6-8 weeks because of a non-displaced fracture in his right foot. #BlueJays

Lind believed he was nursing a bruised foot but went for an MRI after confering with his mom. Yes, that's right - mother always knows best.
Lind had an MRI at the request of...wait for this...his MOM. #BlueJays #MLB

With Edwin Encarnacion and Brett Lawrie already on the disabled list, Toronto's lineup will be further depleted without Lind. Acting as the team's primary DH, Lind has played in 61 games this season and has been particularly effective against right-handed pitching, posting a .369/.434/.570 slash line against righties while struggling in limited action against lefties (.069/.156/.069 in 32 plate appearances).
Jose Bautista will likely continue to play first base as he has in the past three games. Triple-A first baseman Dan Johnson could also be poised for a promotion to the big leagues.
The Blue Jays begin a three-game series with the Rays on Friday night before next week's All-Star break.
