Want to celebrate your wedding at a CFL game? The Roughriders will let you, for $500…

The book of unconventional CFL promotions is getting a new chapter this season, as the Saskatchewan Roughriders have decided to offer wedding packages. The "Wedding Celebration In Rider Nation" packages, which boost the tagline "Relive That Special Day The Rider Way" cost $500 or $900, depending on which one you opt for, and they offer some pretty interesting benefits, as you can see from the chart below:

Rider wedding gifts are nice, of course, as is a fancy hotel reception, but what really makes this a football-themed wedding idea is allowing newlyweds to participate in the halftime show of Saskatchewan's August 17 game against the Montreal Alouettes. That should be quite something.

This is far from the first Riders' wedding connection, though. Rider-themed wedding paraphernalia has long been a thing, from wedding-cake toppers to garter sets. That makes sense, considering that the team's been celebrated in everything from cereals to ice cream. People in Saskatchewan (and elsewhere!) love their Riders, so it's logical for the team to try and provide further opportunities for them to show that, and these wedding packages seem like an excellent unconventional marketing plan. It may require some adjustments for the happy couples, though. After all, "something blue" probably wouldn't go over well in a province where the Bombers tend to be the biggest rival...
