The Calgary Stampeders' January trade that sent import receiver Maurice Price to the Ottawa Redblacks is still having effects. The main player they got in return, import linebacker Jasper Simmons (they also received import receiver Dan Buckner, who was cut in camp), made headlines this weekend after his agent complained on Twitter about his lack of playing time, and that led to Calgary receiver Marquay McDaniel throwing shade at Price on Twitter Sunday night. That in turn led to plenty of further shots between the two players, and a feud compared to that of Drake and Meek Mill, with other current and former players from around the league (and even former Stampeder Shawn Lemon, now in the NFL) chiming in as well. Here are some of the key tweets involved between McDaniel and Price:

And here are some of the best tweets from other current and former CFLers on the Price-McDaniel feud:

In the end, both McDaniel and Price tweeted that they were done beefing and that it was with good intentions:

That's a pretty good way to wrap it up, and props to everyone involved for leaving their tweets up instead of deleting them. From this corner, this is just some good-natured trash talk, not that different from what you might hear on the field; the cool thing is that, unlike that on-field trash talk, this was public, so fans and media get to see how these guys interact. There's nothing overly personal here, and the criticisms of each player aren't that different from what you might see from some fans and media; they're just a lot more interesting when they're made by current players. This may not have been as nasty as the Drake-Meek Mill fight some compared it to, but it was even more entertaining. More of this please, CFL Twitter.
