CFL teams get into the Academy Awards spirit in a special edition of #MemeWarMonday, creating #CFLOscars for "Best Hair," "Best Fight Scene" and much more

Sunday's 87th Academy Awards clearly left an impression on the people who run CFL teams' social media accounts, as they took their usual #MemeWarMonday to new heights with a #CFLOscars theme, causing plenty of fans to join in as well. The Toronto Argonauts appear to have started it with a "Best Tattoos" nomination for Chad Owens:

The Saskatchewan Roughriders had a good response featuring a certain green Oscar:

The Calgary Stampeders jumped in with their own movie poster (the Brian Griffin review is appropriate, considering Family Guy's recent CFL discussion):

And the Edmonton Eskimos have their own favourite golden statue related to the movies:

There was an excellent debate over "Best Hair":

The Alouettes also created a terrific poster (the level of detail in the credits is impressive!), playing off the Best Picture Oscar "Birdman" won Sunday and this famed Ochocinco incident. ("The Unexpected Virtue Of Ignorance" might be an appropriate subtitle for that one, too.)

There was also a spirited debate over who in the CFL is closest to Superman:

How about a showdown between mascots?

And a flashback to a famed almost-fight scene:

The award for "Closest Award To An Actual Oscar Category" has to go to fan Rebecca Vito (@argosgirl), though, for her tweet recalling this excellent production:

Now that's something that should have won Best Live Action Short Film. And probably Best Appearance By A Goat In A Supporting Role.
