UPDATE: Baldwin could miss ‘a couple weeks’

Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll updated the status of injured wide receiver Doug Baldwin on Tuesday and said that he could miss “a couple weeks” after suffering an MCL sprain.

“He’s really gonna go a few days at a time here,” Carroll said. “Let’s see what happens. We’ll wait and see. We don’t know yet. It could be a couple weeks. It could be a couple weeks, and we’ll find out.”

The Seattle Seahawks suffered a potentially significant blow Sunday when they lost No. 1 wide receiver Doug Baldwin to a knee injury. Baldwin was ruled out of the second half of Sunday’s loss to the Denver Broncos after suffering the injury in the first quarter.

No timetable for Doug Baldwin’s return

Head coach Pete Carroll told reporters after the game that Baldwin had suffered a right MCL sprain. He did not provide a timetable for his return.

Baldwin missed most of training camp with an undisclosed left knee injury and suffered Sunday’s right knee injury when a Denver defender made contact while he was blocking.

Tyler Lockett now Seattle’s No. 1 receiver

Tyler Lockett moves up to the top of the wide receiver depth chart in Baldwin’s absence.

Russell Wilson’s favorite target, Baldwin has made the Pro Bowl after each of the last two seasons. He made 75 catches for 991 yards and eight touchdowns last season.
