Ronaldo passes ankle tests, to return soon

MADRID (AP)—Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to resume full training after passing medical tests on his injured ankle.

The team says Ronaldo will maintain his rehabilitation program until Friday when he will take part in a regular training session with the squad. Madrid did not say whether the Portugal forward would be available for Saturday’s league match against Racing Santander.

The 24-year-old Ronaldo was examined on Tuesday.

Ronaldo could return for the Champions League match against FC Zurich on Nov. 25. Defending champion Barcelona leads Madrid by one point in the standings.

Ronaldo hasn’t played since Portugal’s match on Oct. 10, when he aggravated the injury.

    messi is just as useless as ronaldo on the international stage. Both play well in the leagues, but can never really step up for the big games, although Ronaldo is slowly changing that, with his assist in the Portugal match and the CL games against Arsenal and Porto (not against Barca though which I thought was just a bad match played by the entire MU team and not just CR)

    To say the world of football is missing you is to state the obvious. It's the likes of you that have made soccer the greatest sport on the planet. Please take good care of yourself and allow the injury to heal well. Age is still on your side.

    On comment 399. I feel Jacob is one of those guys who are a minority yet think they have superior arguments over the majority. Ronaldo was voted as world's best by people who know something about football so you better accept that. Like him or not he is good at what he does. He will again prove his worth when he comes back to the team.

    I imagine you probably know a lot about soccer, when you call a player who was the best scorer in the premiership, champions league and also the best scorer in Europe, useless.

    Since the golden ball and the player of the year awards are based on the members of the press and also coaches from around the world, i guess you also know more about soccer than them.....

    Heck, you might just be most knowledgeable person in the world when it comes to soccer.

    i wish ronaldo could remain sick such that this manager can try otherwise as early as possible imagine to find a big club like Real to keep on loosing because of the absence of serial killer"CR" better this manager put more emphersis in other players like kaka, alonso, diara and benzema for the purpose of waking up the club

    I really cannot understand most people who think CR is a great football player. Like Beckham, he is good at selling himself and nothiong more. He is not fit to tie Messi's boot laces - Messi is quiet but effective. CR is flamboyant but useless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
