The U.S. began their Gold Cup run with a 2-0 win over Canada on Tuesday and in the second half, Clint Dempsey attempted to score with a scorpion kick. Unfortunately, the magical idea didn't exactly translate into a shot in the direction of the goal and the world was deprived of an addition to the reel of scorpion golazos.
A short time later, Dempsey did score (albeit not with a scorpion kick), adding to the goal Jozy Altidore scored in the 14th minute and providing insurance that Tim Howard's ridiculous saves made irrelevant.
