  • Canada Beats Scotland and Becomes Men's Curling Champs

    In Grand Fork, North Dakota, at the 2008 World Men's Curling Championships, Canada beat Scotland and over twenty years of hard luck to become the world champions. Scotland has held the title three times in the last four years, and originally defeat Canada for the straight line to the finals. Canada had to then defeat Norway before getting their rematch with Scotland for the title. Canada picked up the lead early and held on for a 6 to 3 victory. (WCSN, WCSN.com)

  • Canada defeats China in the Gold Medal Match in Women's Curling

    The third time was the charm for the Canadian women. China had defeat them twice in earlier draws, but edging past Japan, Canada was set to face and then finally defeat China 7 to 4 in the championship match of the 2008 Ford World Curling Championships in Vernon, Canada. This is the second year in a row for Canada.
