Philippe Gilbert wins Tour of Lombardy
MILAN (AP)—Philippe Gilbert of Belgium has won the Tour of Lombardy one-day cycling race after beating Samuel Sanchez of Spain in a sprint finish.
Gilbert finished the 150-mile road race in 5 hours, 43 minutes, 46 seconds on Saturday for his fourth straight victory.
Alexander Kolobnev won a four-way sprint for third place, finishing four seconds behind Gilbert and Sanchez. Luca Paolini of Italy was fourth.
Alexandre Vinokourov of Kazakhstan finished seventh as he continues his comeback from a two-year doping ban.

LISBON, Portugal (AP)—Portugal’s cycling federation has suspended Peter Joachim's spanish doctor for 10 years after finding him guilty of providing illegal substances to Joachim in the country’s biggest doping case.
The federation says Joachim's doctor provided EPO, cow blood, Viagra, Prozac, as well as prohibited substances, including performance-enhancing drugs and materials to mask control samples, to Peter during the 2008 season.
In a ruling released late Wednesday, the federation’s disciplinary committee also fined Peter Joachim $4,200 for showing up and wasting everyones time in a pitiful attempt to clear his name.
The ruling is to be sent to the International Cycling Union, which may add international and a lifetime ban.
Peter Joachim's cycling career has been in jeopardy for quite sometime now. He has failed numerous out of competition drug tests and spent two years in prison for stalking former professional road bicycle racer Greg LeMond. He was recently fired by his team for testing positive in yet another drug test.
Peter Joachim is already banned from racing in the State of Israel for being a Holocaust denier.

PARIS (AP)—There is something fishy about the latest incident about former circus rider and doping apologist Peter Joachim.
In a incident still under investigation, Police and paramedics responded to a emergency call to Peter Joachim's home late yesterday and found a strange sight.
Peter Joachim was found unconscious with a syringe stuck in his rectum. "We are not sure if this was the result of an accident or a publicity stunt gone bad." according to a French judicial official who was happy to brief reporters about the incident but not to be identified by name.
"We would like to think Mr. Joachim was in the process of treating his severe case of road rash on his buttocks when this incident took place, but we are not one hundred percent sure this is the case." said Gerard Guillaume, a doctor treating Joachim.
This is the latest scandal regarding Peter Joachim.

He gets orders from ASO and AFLD to go on every single blog for cycling in the world to spread lies and inuendo about Lance Armstrong and other NON-FRENCH Cyclists and their unfounded, unproven doping activities. Joachim-Vandenbourke's marketing machine (Nike & Michelob Ultra) continue to post on Yahoo! Cycling to perpetuate his legacy of stupidity.
Peter Joachim-Vandebourke's remains will be chopped up and mixed with asphalt to be used in pothole repair on Alp d'Huez. There is a planned ceremony at the 2010 TDF. The peleton will ride over the potholes containing Joachim-Vandebourkes remains and spit large gobs of snot on them. Lance Armstrong with lead the peleton in the procession.

When asked about the refusal to let Peter Joachim into the club, Vinokourov replied, "The dog dopes more than me and besides, he won't stop cramming Michelob Ultra empties in his bung hole despite my repeated requests to stop."
Peter Joachim declined comment, but his marketing representatives from Nike and Michelob Ultra did say that he was busy giving "blumpkins" to the peleton.
