Jockey Joe Talamo won five races Sunday at Hollywood Park, including a victory on Bickersons in the $100,000 Moccasin Stakes for 2-year-old fillies. Talamo and Bickersons briefly ceded the lead on the backstretch but otherwise led throughout the seven-furlong race, beating Miss Heather Lee by 2 1/2 lengths in 1:22.49.

Groomedforvictory beat Naughty New Yorker by 3 lengths Sunday in the $67,000 Study Hard Stakes for New York breds at Aqueduct. Groomedforvictory moved to the front on the turn and pulled clear of the pack at the top of the stretch. Trained by Barclay Tagg, the 6-5 favorite extended his winning streak to three by running one mile in 1:36.74 with Ramon Dominguez aboard.

Jockey Garrett Gomez recovering after spill (AP)

Jockey Garrett Gomez has taken off his scheduled mounts at Hollywood Park after escaping serious injury in a spill. Gomez was resting Sunday, a day after being released from a hospital. His agent Ron Anderson says X-rays on Gomez's shoulder and elbow were negative. He says Gomez will return to riding later this week.

Bearpath wins feature race at Churchill (AP)

Bearpath raced past Ravensworth at the sixteenth pole and drew away for a half-length victory in Sunday's $50,199 feature race at Churchill Downs. Trained by Ian Wilkes and ridden by Freddie Lenclud, Bearpath ran 1 1/2 miles on a firm turf course in 2:31.95. The 3-year-old son of Dynaformer won for the third time in 13 career starts and improved his earnings to $87,130.

Keeneland's November Breeding Stock Sale has ended with total receipts and the average price for the 13-day horse auction falling below figures from last year's longer sale. Total receipts for the auction held Nov. 10-22 were $159,727,800, down 14 percent from $185,552,300 grossed during last year's 15-day sale.

Mixed Up has beaten beat Red Letter Day by a neck to capture the 40th running of the $100,000 Carolina First Colonial Cup Steeplechase. Danielle Hodsdon guided Mixed Up through the 2-mile, six-furlong course over 17 Colonial Cup fences in 5:16 3/5 on Saturday. Tax Ruling was a length and a half back in third.

Loup Breton beat Porfido by 1 3/4 lengths to win the $46,000 feature race at Hollywood Park on Thursday. The 5-year-old gelding, ridden by Garrett Gomez, ran the nine furlongs in 1:46:87, and paid $3.60, $2.80 and $2.20. Porfido returned $5 and $3.20. Tres Borrachos paid $3.40 to show. The win raises Loup Breton's career earnings to $575,308.

Churchill Downs is doubling down on night racing next year. The home of the Kentucky Derby announced plans Tuesday to host six night racing events in 2010. The historic Louisville track debuted night racing at three events during its spring meet this year, and track officials said the experiment was a big success.
