Coulee wins Churchill feature

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP)—Coulee took the lead at the eighth pole and drew away to win the $55,333 feature race Friday at Churchill Downs by three-quarters of a length.

Ridden by Julien Leparoux and trained by John Booker, Coulee completed the mile over firm turf in 1:36.08.

Dreaming of Liz came in second in the field of six, with favored Lady Carlock finishing third.

Coulee, a 5-year-old Kentucky-bred, earned $34,175 to bring her career earnings to $153,461.

She paid $23.80, $9.40 and $4, while Dreaming of Liz returned $5.40 and $2.80. Lady Carlock paid $2.40.
