Mark Lenzi (July 4, 1968-April 9, 2012) -- For 50 years, the United States dominated the Olympic springboard competition. Mark Lenzi's gold medal in the 1992 marked the end of that era. Lenzi, a wrestler growing up, was inspired by Greg Louganis in 1984, so much so he quit grappling and took up diving. Eight years later he was an Olympic champion. Lenzi was 43.
