Fleming had a great second season on the World Cup Circuit and has become one of the top brakeman on the World Cup circuit. She teamed with Shauna Rohbock for the second year in a row and set start records in three of the five World Cup races along with the start and track record at the World Championships in Calgary, Canada. In all Valerie won three medals during the 2004-2005 season (1 Silver and 2 Bronze).
Valerie was also recognized along with the U. S. Women’s Bobsled Team by the USOC as the recipients of the Team of the Month award for January 2005.
Fleming broke the school record in the 4 X 100m relay at the University of California and was also the Big West Champion in Women’s Javelin.
Valerie has a twin sister named Victoria.
