Susan Williams, the last woman to qualify for the U.S. team, rallied from a cycling crash to win America's only triathlon medal. The top U.S. finisher in the men's event was ninth. Austria's Kate Allen won the women's gold; New Zealand's Hamish Carter took the men's title.
