Ryan Malone and Alex Tanguay each had a goal and an assist to lead Tampa Bay to a 3-1 win over the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night. James Wright also scored for the Lightning, which went 2-0-1 after dropping the opener of a four-game road trip at Philadelphia on Monday.

With special teams struggling, coach Jacques Martin has made a move designed to help the penalty killing.

The Canadiens have called up Tom Pyatt and Ryan White from Hamilton and they played on the fourth line for Thursday's game in Boston. Martin will use them as penalty killers.

"In the last five-game segment, we gave up eight goals while we were shorthanded and that's an area where we need to improve," said Martin, whose team ranks 24th in penalty killing.

Pyatt and White both made their NHL debuts but Martin noted that both players had strong training camps and were playing well in Hamilton. Pyatt had an outside chance of making the team out of camp but suffered a concussion in the team's final exhibition game.
