A letdown would have been understandable one night after Nathan Horton and the Florida Panthers pulled out an overtime victory at Detroit. Instead, it was the New York Rangers who finished the game with an empty feeling. Horton, Jordan Leopold and Steven Reinprecht scored goals and Tomas Vokoun made 32 saves as the streaking Panthers beat the slumping Rangers 3-2 on Saturday night.

Scott Clemmensen kept the Florida Panthers in the game until the rest of his teammates got their act together. Bryan McCabe's goal 40 seconds into overtime gave Florida a 2-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings on Friday night. Clemmensen made 39 saves for the Panthers, who won for the fourth time in five games to reach .500 (9-9-2).

Jack Johnson couldn't quite finish his end-to-end rush in overtime. The Los Angeles Kings defenseman didn't miss his chance in the shootout. Johnson scored the only goal in the shootout, rallying the Kings to a 4-3 victory over the Florida Panthers on Monday night. "I just wanted to make sure we got the two points," Johnson said.

A two-goal lead wasn't enough for either the New York Islanders or the Florida Panthers. So they settled things in a shootout. Nathan Horton beat Dwayne Roloson with a wrist shot in the fourth shootout round to lift the Florida Panthers past the New York Islanders 5-4 on Saturday night. Cory Stillman, Rostislav Olesz, Stephen Weiss and Michael Frolik scored in regulation for the Panthers.
