Brenden Morrow's left eye was swollen and bluish late Monday night. The Stars captain earned it when he tussled with Carolina's Tim Gleason just 25 seconds into the game. The fight obviously got the crowd going. But it also got the Stars motivated, and they fed off that motivation the rest of the night.

Morrow still might be trying to find his scoring touch, but he has never had a problem figuring out how to lead the Stars. His team-first attitude has served him well his whole career, and it's what earned him the "C" a few seasons ago.

With the Stars trying to find consistency and the rare two-game winning streak, especially at home, Morrow did exactly what was necessary—he took a few jabs to give his team a jolt.

The NHL has suspended Dallas Stars forward James Neal two games for a boarding infraction that injured the Columbus Blue Jackets' Derek Dorsett. The NHL announced the discipline on Friday. Neal will miss games against New Jersey on Saturday and Carolina on Monday. Neal also will forfeit $8,515 in salary, with the money going to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
