RW Patrice Bergeron, who missed the last 72 games of the regular season and the playoffs last year with a serious head injury, was foiled on a shorthanded breakaway in the opener but had two assists, logged 16:08 of ice time and won 60 percent of his faceoffs. Bergeron, out for nearly a year with a serious concussion, had two assists, lifting the Bruins to a 5-4 win over the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday night in the season opener for both teams. Advice: The 23-year-old Bergeron missed all but 10 games last season due to a Grade 3 concussion he suffered after he was driven face-first into the end boards by Philadelphia defenseman Randy Jones. In his limited action, he scored three goals and four assists. He has 72 goals and 119 assists for 191 career points in 240 games. |
